What’s New:

Exam material is intended to guide study preparation. Starting early is good.

Look for details on the exam and preparation aids; 2004 material will be updated closer to the exam date.

  • Quizzes – practice at multiple-choice questions.
  • Sample exam 55 marks - 100%; 55 available
    • Part A and B are compulsory
    • you should choose ONE of Parts C or D
      • Part A is multiple-choice: general coverage of course content
      • Part B is a bonus question, from any part of the course
      • Part C is similar in style to tutorial questions (any part of the course)
      • Part D is based on the assignments: if you understood the assignments – and difficulties encountered in the assignments – you should find this one easy
    • the actual exam will have a similar question breakdown. However, Parts B and C will not necessarily cover the same areas
    • mark scheme – not always complete answers, but this should allow you to “mark” your attempt; some corrections:
      • A1 should be
d you must wait for both but the DRAM price will be the bigger holdup

        A2 should be
c you are trying to minimize downtime
  • Coverage of areas of problem-solving is deliberately chosen no to be too wide, to allow time to work out how to handle the question
    • do not assume that the amount of time allowed and the fact that the exam is open book means you can get away with being unprepared
