CSSE3001/7000 Project Marking 2007

Assessment Strategy

The purpose of the project is to enable you to explore a focused area in depth. The mark scheme is designed to encourage your to do so without too many distractions. You have 3 opportunities to present your work, designed to give you feedback before the final submission.

Deliverables

  • presentation – you will give a short talk on your project, to give you the opportunity to get feedback on your results before completing your write-up. The mark scheme for this is simple to emphasize that it is a feedback point
  • demo – you will need to do a demo to show off what your project does. If your project required analysis of work of others rather than implementation, the demo will take the form of answering questions about what you did. The purpose of the demo is to clarify any issues you may have with what to write up after your talk, and to calibrate your expectations of how much to write up
  • write up – this should be in the form of a lab report, in which you:
    • itemize goals
    • show what you did to meet those goals
    • present any performance results or analysis of other work
    • arrive at conclusions
Your write up should be at most 10 pages including diagrams, graphs and tables.

The mark scheme is as follows:
