FROM AIRPORT TO YOUR HOTEL


There are a number of options for you to choose:

  1. Bus - Door to door services from Brisbane Airport to some major hotels in Brisbane. Pre-booking can be arranged. Approximate cost is $14: http://www.coachtrans.com.au/airport_transfers.aspx 

  2. Taxi - Approximate cost to Brisbane CBD is $50.00

  3. Train - The Airtrain service leaves from Brisbane Airport for the Brisbane CBD every half hour throughout the day between 6.00am and 9.30pm. Approxmate cost is $14: http://www.airtrain.com.au

  4. Car rental - Rent at Brisbane Airport on arrival.

HOW TO GET TO THE CONFERENCE VENUE


There are at least four ways to get to the conference venue:

  1. DASFAA Bus - Sunstate bus company will pick up delegates Tues-Thurs mornings of the conference from:

    • Oaks River City, 79 Albert Street, Brisbane CBD  -  7.45am

    • Stamford Plaza, Corner Edward & Mary Streets, Brisbane CBD  -  8.00am

    • Royal on the Park, Corner Alice & Albert Streets, Brisbane CBD  -  7.45am

    • Quay West Suites, 132 Alice Street, Brisbane CBD  -  8.00am

    The DASFAA buses will transport delegates:

    • From the conference reception to the hotels above, departing 7.30pm Tues 21 April

    • From the conference to the banquet, departing 6.00pm Wed 22 April

    • From the banquet to the hotels above, departing 10.00pm Wed 22 April

  2. Brisbane City Council Buses - Brisbane City Council buses #412 and #402 depart approximately every 15 minutes from Stop 16 on the corner of Adelaide & George Streets, Brisbane CBD. These buses stop at Chancellor's Place which is directly opposite the conference venue. The journey from Brisbane CBD to St Lucia can take around 45 minutes at peak hour. One way fare is $2.90. If you are staying in the suburb of Toowong, buses #412 and #402 stop at the Toowong Village stop on the way to the university: http://www.translink.com.au/

  3. Brisbane City Council CityCat Ferry - Brisbane City Council CityCat services operate along the Brisbane River between Hamilton and The University of Queensland. They run about every half-hour from 6am to 11.45pm daily. It is a 15 minute walk from the university ferry terminal to the conference venue: http://www.translink.com.au/

  4. Taxi - Approximate cost from Brisbane CBD to St Lucia is $30.

  5. Parking - Paid parking operates on the St Lucia campus from 7am to 9pm weekdays. Short-term parking is available in central locations. Long-term casual parking is available in two multi-level carparks off Sir Fred Schonell Drive, at Parking Station One (opposite the Athletics Centre), and in the Warehouse carpark (entry from Walcott Street). The local transportation provider is called TransLink. Just one TransLink ticket will take you wherever you want to go on buses, trains and ferries within the system.
