An enormous amount of research data is currently stored within personal or private archives, either on researcher desktops or departmental/institutional servers. In these locations it is largely inaccessible to, and undiscoverable by, other researchers or the public. This research investigates how to facilitate institutional repositories for this data, as well as investigating a number of key issues involved in storing and describing complex data resources in digital libraries and repositories.
