I found that using CVS is essential, at least you can track the changes
and back out of them if it breaks something.

Strange - I haven't seen anything like it in uClinux, or at least
haven't recognised it anyway. You sure it's happening that "deep", and
not somewhere higher up in the chain? It amazed me when I first did a
stack track from within one of the driver functions, it's about 6 levels
deep in the call chain from the kernel entry point!
Well let me know if you find anything, or have any other fixes or
tidy-ups for the driver.
