not sure, how do i check?  I've tried using mii-tool to force a reset /

the link LED on p160 glows when I connect an ethernet cable

I haven't seen the activity LED blink yet.

yes, it's off.  the network topology is that I have a windows PC and the 
microblaze board connected to a 10mbps hub, which then connects to the 
our main intranet.  IP address, broadcast and netmask etc are set properly.

no, it didn't seem necessary once I found the error i had introduced. 
The MII query stuff looks like it's working properly

haven't tried it, it looks like quite a pain to get going, but i should 
probably give it a try.

I wrote a little standalone test program to query the PHY via the MII, 
basically just read all 32 registers of PHY number 0.  Im just looking 
for some MII documentation, to see what the register contents mean. 
But, it's clear that the MII link is working, I'm getting some 
meaningful data back from the XEmac_PhyRead() low level function.
