Can someone update the documentation to describe exactly how to get the ethernet interface working?

 

After following the directions given on 9 Oct, here's what I get when I run ifconfig:

 

/> ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1
ifconfig: socket: Address family not supported by protocol
pid 17: failed 256

 

Attached is my .config (hopefully it will make it through the mail scanners)
