Sounds great material for student projects.  That's one of the reasons 
we did the linux port in the first place, try to get a good 
platform-level environment for students to do embedded proejcts like 
these.  There are so many interesting and easily interfaced devices out 
there, like USB controllers and so on...

On that note, I recall mention of an OPB USB core at openchip.org, but I 
didn't see under what terms it is available.

Do you know of anyone using Handel-C to create microblaze compatible 
cores?  I'd be particularly interested in the FSL interface, my brief 
flirtation with HandelC makes me think that it would be an ideal 
combination.
