Hi everyone,

how long!! :D 
I had been very busy these last weeks but i have some interesting news
(i hope :P ).

First, in the wish list of the wiki there is an entry about the design
of a tiny bootloader with tftp capabilities (i think it was written by
John - Hi John!!). We have designed one that allows to download the
uClinux image of a tftp server and write it into the flash. The
bootloader is very small and it also allows to load the image from the
serial port, erase the flash memory, check if the flash is blank and
jump to a specific memory address (if i remember it checks if there is a
image available on the flash memory and run it automatically).

This bootloader was designed to use it in a board based on a small
Spartan II device (it has a few BRAM blocks). This board only has 2 MB
RAM and 4 MB flash. The uClinux image boots from the flash memory and it
allows to use all the RAM memory for applications. So, it is possible to
use network capabilities on this platform. Currently the uClinux on this
platform executes telnetd, thttpd, and another user programs sucessfully
(with only 2 MB RAM memory). 

In a few days I hope that Sergio (a boy of my research group) puts the
source code in the mailing list (he is improving the code).

Second, we have designed a expansion board with 2 RS232, 1 USB and 1
Ethernet. There are two images of the previous platform with this
expansion board:

Initially this expansion board was designed for the RC1000PP board (a
PCI board), so the energy suply is PC ATX compatible (a white connector
in the middle of the expansion board). The information of this board
will be available on the web in a few days too. This platform will be
"Open Hardware".

Well, I hope this information could be usefull for the
uClinux-MicroBlaze community :D
