[microblaze-uclinux] ping echo takes 10ms
Hi all
I have uclinux running on my memec spartan 2e microblaze based system with fully functional ethernet.
I assigned a loopback interface IP address and a LAN ip address for the microblaze board..I am able to ping the board from any computer on the network...
we are running microblaze at 66Mhz...
one thing what i have noticed is the time(round trip time..i guess) as reported by the ping request is 10 ms for both- computers on the network and also the loopback interface...how can they be the same?
besides..when i ping from the host machine(to which the board is connected..its a P4,1.8Ghz ) to other computers on the network..the rtt for these icmp packets is less than a millisecond...can anyone explain this phenomenon?
does the processor frequency have this kind of effect on the b/w utilisation capability of the system? Why is it that Microblaze does not see the full 10/100 Mbps ethernet bandwidth available to it..?...
Thanks for any information in this regard..
Cheers
V.Anand
