RE: [microblaze-uclinux] 16 bit wide SDRAM on Microblaze

Im using the Nuhorizon board with 16bt wide sdram. The biggest gain is when
you are using cache. If you do, then I bet the difference between 16 and 32
is minimal.

A non-cached ucLinux run 2.54bogomips on a 50mhz microblaze. With cache,
bump it to 25. On the spartan 3 core, I think I can pump the microblaze to
80. I'm trying that tonight.

Subject: [microblaze-uclinux] 16 bit wide SDRAM on Microblaze

Hi all,

anybody out here uses a 16-bit only SDRAM ?
(not talking DDR, just simple SDRAM)

Any ideas, numbers how much performance you loose because of the
narrower bus ?

trying to save few pins again, and wondering if it is ore than just
few percent performance hit ...
