RE: [microblaze-uclinux] general questions S-IIE

You need 8k of bram at 0 for vectors, etc, and another 8kx2 for cache. You can run w/o cache, but at 10th speed. Also, mac sucks up bram for fifos’. Opencore.org has a free mac, but I don’t know if drivers are available, and you will still need a phy chip. I might go external.

Subject: [microblaze-uclinux] general questions S-IIE

Hi,

I have spartan-IIE board (300K gates) from Memec/Insight with P160 module.

1. Is it possible to port mb_vanilla_net there (Bram is just up to 0x0001FFF)?

2. My board doesn't have any additional RAM, just that on P160 module.

    Is that enough?

3. For networking - is there a need to buy TCP/IP core for Microblaze?

Many thanks,

Uros
