[microblaze-uclinux] speeding up ethernet transmission

For my application I'd like to get as high of a rate out of the 10/100
emac as possible. I wrote a simple network app for uClinux to test
TCP throughput and averaged about 3600 bps. This is incredibly low!
I learned a bit about why from this thread:

Up to now I have only done a small amount of Linux driver
development... and only for char devices. But I'm very excited about
diving into network drivers (I realize they are vastly more complex)
in order to fix up uClinux ethernet driver for the xilinx emac. I
figured it'd be wise to post on this list before I began and ask
whether other individuals were working on this same problem.
