Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Help - Spartan 3 port almost works
Can you post your .config file(s) and system.mhs file?
BTW, John - is there any way to get a corresponding .config file posted
for the demo image.bin files available on the web site? Might help
some folks...
I just got uClinux going on a 3S400, so I know it can be done on a
Spartan 3. :-)
I had to check and double-check that kernel configuration options
matched various Microblaze settings that can be made via XPS. Barrel
shifter, multiplier, divider, cache settings, etc. need to match. I
posted my working .config file recently - you might check back a few
weeks in the mail list archives.
Running and passing memory tests is not necessarily an indication of
stable hardware. I passed memory tests all day long for awhile, but my
kernel still wouldn't boot. The big "gotcha" for me was needing to add
in a timing constraint on my system clock.
I don't have any experience setting up DDR with Microblaze, but DDR is
definitely tricky. Any way you can squeeze into your 2MB of SRAM?
It's more than enough to boot a small kernel. Might help isolate the
problem.
