RE: [microblaze-uclinux] bechmarks

Kristian,
What changes need to be made to make it run on the ppc?  I know the ppc can not use the mb_interface.h file but what other changes need to be implemented to get it to run on that to?
Thanks
Brett

Hi Brett,

Standalone code attached.  Do let me know if you have any problems.  Please note dhry_1.c expects an OPB timer
with the name “ mytimer “, which of course can be changed!

Good luck!

Kris

Basically I was trying to run drystone but could never get it running right with the source code I have.  I will try the ones in the distribution.  But basically I have a ppc and microblaze configuration both built as identical to one another as possible and need to run it on them and I have varied the MHz on both and just need to get a comparison bettwen them to see how certain configuration and speeds affect the performance.

Hi Brett,

What kind of benchmarking are you looking for ?  I have used Dhrystone on MB and PPC.  You can find the source
files for Dhrystone under the user section of the distribution.

If you are looking for figures, this does depend on the features that you have turned on in MicroBlaze and PPC, and
also the speed you want to run the core.

Best regards

Kris

I was wondering if anyone had some benchmarks that will run on the microblaze processor.  Prior to placing uclinux on the board I would liek to benckmark the microblaze.  I need to run a benchmark on the microblaze and the ppc on a memec 2vp7 board for a paper to state some performance results between the 2.

Thanks

Brett
