I agree re: 7.1 and the V4.  If at all possible, you'll want to upgrade
to ISE/EDK 7.1 if working with the Virtex4 part.  I had a routing issue
while using 6.3 and a Virtex4 FX12 that just went away after I upgraded
to 7.1.  Oh, yeah... 7.1 is much faster for the V4 as well!

So, count me as one who's gotten uClinux running using EDK/ISE 7.1 and
am very happy with the results.  Still using the "deprecated" 3.X
MicroBlaze core, though.  Have not tried the 4.0 version.
