I'm assuming ARP reqest packet is what you see, can you see the ARP
reply from the other end??yes, I can see the ARP request and reply.
I found my interface eth0 has no baseaddress at all, is it the problem?

try with an static IP first without DHCP to keep the the number of
variables down.I did try a static IP as well.
