Hi Rudi,

Relaying a bounced message from someone else on the list:

Try Diskman ( http://www.diskman.co.uk/ )... it can format, partition,
view, or just general edit any drive (even through usb).  It saved me
a ton of time trying to debug a FAT driver for a compact flash card.

Incidentally, some lower density cards put the actual partition table
on the first sector rather than point to it.
