Thanks, the zip file does contain a lot of info. Since I have a Virtex2 pro
eval board from Avnet. It's like I have to do a lot to get the flash up and
to load the code because it's wired differently and the prom isn't serial.

Is this the Xapp you were looking at? There is a reference design in an
accompanying zip file which should be a good place to start.
