Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Fast software suspend scheme for Microblaze-uClinux

Dimitris,

This looks very interesting and somewhat related to what I have been looking in terms of FPGA reconfiguration. On your website, you mention a paper in USENIX describing the scheme. If it would be OK with you, could you please send me a copy of the paper.

Thank you.
John Chandy.

 Hello all,

I have developed a Software Suspend mechanism for the uClinux Microblaze port. The main feature of this implementation is speed of the suspend-resume process (depending on the platform configuration it may need less than a second to complete). This is because the hardware state is stored in volatile
memory and therefore the system image is not transferred to permanent
storage. For this reason i have named it "Volatile Software Suspend".
Application scenarios include "runtime" reconfiguration and power management. VSS is freely available under GPL. For more information visit the project

 Hope you find this useful!

 Regards,

  Dimitris
