[microblaze-uclinux] HELP!!! Porting UClinux on Spartan 3
Hi guys,
I have been allocated a project in my university this summer. I am
supposed to port Uclinux on a Xilinx Spartan 3 FPGA Starter Kit Board
(XC3S200). The specs of this board are given below:
200,000 gates
2Mbit Platform Flash
1MB SRAM
9 pin RS 232 Serial Port
Along with this I got the DVDs of Xilinx ISE Webpack and Xilinx EDK 8.1 and a computer on which I installed Fedora Core 3.
Since, I had no prior experience with either FPGAs or Operating Systems
I searched on the net for info and started following the guide by
Jason Wu & John Williams. I have downloaded the UClinux dist and
2.4.x as per the manual.
As the manual is for ML 401 board I am having some doubts. The manual
states that I am to download the required MDM for V4 devices,dl.sh,Make
file and xmd.ini Should I download these or not???? I would like to
know that what changes am I supposed to make for Uclinux to run on my
board??
Also the manual specifies the changes to make in settings.sh for EDK
6.3 and EDK 7.1. I would like to know what changes are required
in EDK 8.1???
If anybody has ported Uclinux on this board please help me.
Thanx in advance
Nikhil
