[microblaze-uclinux] ttyS1 hangup..

Hi all,
I am having a wierd problem. I am running ntpd which uses ttyS1 to
talk to another board. Once in a while when ntpd quits, i find the
ntpd process not getting killed fully. When i do a "ps" i see the
"113      R      0K     0K  0.0 ntpd" .

After that i couldn't open the ttyS1 again as i get "open:
Input/output error" . I couldn't kill the process either.

When i see the /proc/113/fd it doesn't show anything under it. Also,
/proc/status shows the following.

===========================
# cat status

Please let me know what kinda problem potentially can cause this.
Appreciate your response.
