The way I am usually doing that (I have no dos2unix installed) is using
vi with :%s/^M//g while the ^M is made by pressing CTRL+V, CTRL+M
I think that could also be done with some kind of shell script doing the
same with sed.
Maybe it is useful for someone on the list. Sorry that I reply to you
John because you probably know that but I didn't find a better mail to
