Hello PH,

I already saw this effect with the ethernet emaclite, and we did not
solve it yet. Actually, the problem appears when some packets arrive the
board before the ethernet is configured with ifconfig. If there is no
traffic in the network, there is no such problem.

There is a temporary solution: to send in the rc file(start up) a "ping
-c1" to the network directly after ifconfig, by doing this the
microblaze starts to answer pings for example.

Hi,

I am evaluating the opb_ethernetlite IP core from Xilinx on a Memec
Spartan 3MB development board running microblaze-uClinux. I have been
trying to get the ethernet up and running for several days without
success.

I'm using the latest source (linux/net/xilinx_emaclite/) from the 
uClinux CVS. I have verified that all FPGA pins are connected to the
Broadcom BCM5221 PHY. The emaclite driver is compiled into the kernel.

This is what I have so far:

Everything boots up and the emaclite core seems to be initialized as
supposed. It is possible to bring up the interface and ping a host on
the network but no data is seen on the ethernet. The LED on the switch
is blinking for every packet, but I can't capture any data using the
usual network analyzation tools. If I try to ping the Microblaze system
I can see that data reception seems to work, because the ARP table on
the Microblaze system is updated. No ping reply is generated. 

I draw the conclusion that sending data is the problem, still nothing is
indicating a problem.

Any suggestions?
