opb_mbm takes directly to the microblaze HW debug/trace signal 
interface, which is completely different to the powerpc's.

That said, check the EST_RM.pdf document (embedded system tools) that 
comes with EDK, in the chapter on XMD it may mention how to to a JTAG 
UART-style functionality with the powerpc.  Whether it will be possible 
to fake that up as a linux console driver is another matter, however.
