However, the platform directory that is created doesn't have a blank
setup.c and the Makefile doesn't compile it (like it does for the
'builtin' platforms). This causes the make to fail when it tries to
link in built-in.o for the custom platform.

OK, this is done. it's now -rc2
Also, the source browser at developer.petalogix.com is still pointing at
the previous release, I'll do the import and update of that first thing
Monday.
