Not there yet :(
But a question: what SDRAM chip is on the 3e-500-rev-c ?
I got in the meantime also a 3e-1600-rev-a which has a m46v32m16
and a 3e-500-rev-d which also has the m46v32m16.
So, just to be safe, the 3e-500-rev-c had a m46v16m16 ?

P.S. The problem is somehow in the bitfile. At least here. If I use the 
bitfile from the prebuilt directory, I can use u-boot and uclinux.
But never succeeded in making a working bitfile for the 
spartan-3e500-rev-d board. Only the first stage boot comes up :(
