[microblaze-uclinux] managment of 2 serial ports with Petalinux

hi,

i have a hardware platform with 2 serial ports, one of them i use it for print message in the hyperterminal (so i can use the "printf" function in C++ code), and the other one i use it to control another hardware, for the last one, i use

"XUartLite_RecvByte((void *)XPAR_RS232_DCE_BASEADDR)" to receive data and
the "XUartLite_SendByte((void *)XPAR_RS232_DCE_BASEADDR, byte)" to send data

i probe this in a "stand-alone OS" and it works fine, but now i want probe with a "Petlinux OS", so one serial port i use to see my uClinux terminal window (in the hyperterminal), but the other one serial port i want use it to send/receive data, i tried to use the two functions above, but the linux did not recognize it,

so what functions can i use to send/receive bytes in uClinux?? (i can not use "printf" and "scanf" because they are already busy with the other serial port), why options should i need configure in my kernel options??
someone has manipulated serial port from uClinux??

thanks
