Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Packet Loss - is this expected?

Hi John,

John Mcgrath wrote:

As reported earlier, I just managed to get my ML501 (125MHz, MB 7.00.b) system up and running.

It is using the ethernetlite mac, and it also uses dhcp (via dhcpcd-new).

I am getting about 50% packet loss from ping, but the system is responsive on the console.

The load average is not high or anything.

I am also getting sluggish performance from the thttpd webserver (probably due to the packetloss).

Is this something others have seen – is it related to dhcp?

Also, if I try to view a directory listing (via thttpd), it will usually crash the entire system – thttpd bug?

None of this is to be expected! :)

Check your kernel config - linux-2.6.x/.config, and compare it to the default .config for the ML501 reference design we ship: vendors/Xilinx/ML501/config.linux-2.6.x

See if there are any differences not explained by e.g. you use of emacliet vs emac etc.

Regards,

John
