AFAIK kdevelop just uses an interface to gdb to send and receive commands for controlling gdb. I suppose if microblaze-uclinux-gdb offers the same control interface like the mainline gdb, it should also work with microblaze-uclinux-gdb. As it does not, my conclusion was that kdevelop needs a newer version of such interface than a gdb version 5.3.

I installed the .rpm packages they offer in the download link for SuSE 10.0 on www.kdevelop.org. I noticed they compiled the offered gdb from a cvs checkout. I'm not sure if a official 6.5 could be sufficient...
Well, it was just a trial because the KDevelop debugger look'n'feel is more modern and comfortable than the microblaze-uclinux-gdb. And since we code with KDevelop it would better integrate with our project...
