I rather wanted to use the GUI version because, after a gdb step, it's more comfortable for seeing where it goes, instead of always (slowly) retrieving the backtrace on command-line after each step command.

1) I started 'microblaze-uclinux-gdb'.
2) File->TargetSettings
3) in the opened dialog I setup:
   Target: Remote TCP [ ]Set BP at main
   Hostname: 172.xx.xx.xx [ ]Set BP at exit
   Port: 1234              [ ]Set BP at ____
                           [ ]Display Dl Dlg
                           [ ]Use xterm
   [x] Attach to Target [x]Run Program
   [x] Download Program    [ ]Continue
4) Close dialog with OK
5) in the next opened dialog I choose
   images/image.elf
6) Close dialog with OK
7) Seeing the loading progress in the progress bar
8) After loading has finished I'd expect a kernel start but instead the 'Target Selection' dialog appears again.

No idea where I was wrong.

Cheers, Falk
