Sounds like you've got a bad binary - possibly not even properly cross-compiled.

Are you running MMU or noMMU?

If noMMU, try something like

microblaze-uclinux-flthdr romfs/bin/iperf

or for MMU,

mb-linux-readelf romfs/bin/iperf
