As you have seen there is a huge amount of work going on right now on
the kernel side, but less visible is the effort we are going through
to make sure that the tools and C libraries also come along for the
ride. As part of our merge upstream, certain kernel headers are
changing which have impacts in userspace via the C libraries, and
these changes must be made in tandem.
I am working on getting some toolchain / C library build scripts in
place to allow others to build, and hopefully work on, the tools, and
also of course start working with the shiny new upstream kernel.
But, please understand that at the moment simply dropping the 2.6.30
kernel tree into a petalinux distro will not work - if it did we would
have pushed it out like that already!
