[microblaze-uclinux] u-boot srec download failure

I'm trying to download u-boot.srec to my target.  Now that I'm correctly sending it as a text file (thanks, Ken!), I'm getting different failures with different programs.

With Hyperterminal, set to 115200, N81, no flow control, I get repeated messages like this:
=================================================
FS-BOOT First Stage Bootloader (c) 2006 PetaLogix
Project name: project
Build date: Jun 18 2009 11:49:55  FS
Serial console: Uartlite
=================================================
FS-BOOT: System initialisation completed.
FS-BOOT: No existing image in FLASH.  Starting image download.
FS-BOOT: Waiting for SREC image....

FS-BOOT: Invalid SREC!
FS-BOOT: Image download failed.
FS-BOOT: Please
=================================================

So I switched to SecureCRT (because I've used it for many such tasks in the past), still set to 115200,N81.
With it, I see the "spinning wheel" for about 120 seconds (mind you, this download should have taken about 22 seconds), then it hangs with with one character of the spinning wheel displayed.

I checked the u-boot.srec file, and it seems to be correct; 6533 lines ending in a complete S7 record.

I've tried to search around the web for this kind of issue, but so far haven't seen anything useful, though I'll keep trying.  Has anyone else seen anything like this??
