[microblaze-uclinux] dhcp error

Hi,

I modified the kernel configuration for a Spartan3E500-RevC starter kit so as to use Ethernet.
trying to download files into flash using tftp , I got a message saying "ip server not set".
I downloaded the files serially and after kernel booting, I made an ifconfig to see if a right ip address has been attributed to the board. It is ok for that but there is no information about the network! and tftp commands fail (I erased the image on flash and tried to download it back via the "tftp -g -l /dev/flash/image -r image.bin m.ip.address" without success, I get a "tftp timeout")

does anyone faced this before? (can this be due to running petalinux on a virtual box?!)
