[microblaze-uclinux] Custom platform requirements

Hi,

I want to port petalinux on a custom platform based on a Spartan3 FPGA, for this, the minimum requirements for memory is to have a RAM.
Is it possible to use an SD card memory or do we "absolutely" need a volatile memory? I know an SD card is a Flash memory but it behaves as a RAM (but much slower) since we can re-write it,isn'it? So, is there any constraints using it in addition to the latencies it introduces?

Regards
