Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Custom platform requirements

Hi Faiza,

> I want to port petalinux on a custom platform based on a Spartan3 FPGA, for this, the minimum requirements for memory is to have a RAM.
> Is it possible to use an SD card memory or do we "absolutely" need a volatile memory? I know an SD card is a Flash memory but it behaves as a RAM (but much slower) since we can re-write it,isn'it? So, is there any constraints using it in addition to the latencies it introduces?

No, can't do it. Even if you could, it would destroy the flash
device. Would you boot a desktop PC without RAM?

John
