RE [microblaze-uclinux] petalinux-v0.40-final released, and other news
Hi John,
I can't no more connect to the SVN repo using the public access with login
"guest". It seems that now other login/password are requested.
I would like to finish the checkout of petalinux-v0.40-final before the
18th September, so could you tell me how to connect to the SVN repo ?
Thanks.
Gilbert

Hi everyone,
I've just tagged and cut petalinux-v0.40-final, which as the name suggests
marks the final release in the v0.40 series. The changes from the previous
-rc4 to -final are fairly minor, some small bugfixes and tweaks on the tool
scripts to make life easier on Ubuntu and Debian-based distros.
Along with this release, we will be closing public access to the SVN
server. So, if you have been syncing against the SVN repo, please do that
last update now, as the public repo will be closed by the end of next week
(18th September).
So, what's happening with PetaLinux? As I have hinted over the last week
or so, we are doing a major revamp of PetaLinux, bringing in all of the
latest kernel and toolchain work we've been doing this year, and a fully
tested and validated userspace and library package set. We will be
supporting more root filesystem types out of the box, with image builders
etc to make deployment much easier and more automated than it currently
is.
We'll also be integrating the new QEMU support for MicroBlaze, allowing a
full software flow (including u-boot, and networking etc) to be done in
simulation, without any hardware required.
Another major feature will be full support for Spartan6/Virtex 6 hardware,
including the Xilinx SP605 and ML605 boards.
In other news, we're about ready to re-launch petalogix.com, and the
existing PetaLinux documentation is being migrated from the "
developer.petalogix.com" site to the new site, ready for launch. So, there
will be no discontinuity in access and documentation/support for PetaLinux
v0.40 during the transition.
Regards,
John
