Hi Folks,
I would like the use a NAND flash device with the uClinux 2.4 or 2.6
codeset. I assume the 2.4 probably has wider support for this.
No, 2.4 needs more work because is unmaintained by MTD. So it's better
to start with 2.6
Has anyone done this already? If not, does anyone have a rough list of
what
files we should start playing with to enable NAND flash support?
Yes, I use a Nand Flash on my microblaze board. I use YAFFS file system
on 512Byte page nand flash.
I picked last version of MTD with kernel 2.4 support and integrated it
in uclinux. The main work is to write a custom driver for your core.
Does anyone also know if the 2.4/2.6 kernel supports a flash file system
over to a SPI based flash device? I seem to see references to such.
I can't help on this, never tried SPI flash.
Cheers,
