[partial-reconfig] opb_xhwicap device
Hi folks,
Just a ping to reassure recent subscribers that there is in fact a
mailing list here, it's just not very active at the moment! :)
One thing that might be of interest - as of EDK6.2, Xilinx have released
their HW core and low level drivers to interface microblaze to the ICAP
block - it's called opb_xhwicap or similar.
In conjunction with the microblaze uClinux project, I've written a
(uC)linux device driver that wraps around the opb_xhwicap core. Thus I
have microblaze uClinux systems with a /dev/icap device node, into which
I can pipe partial bitstreams and so on, to achieve dynamic
self-reconfiguration. Some preliminary results of this work will be
presented at the ERSA conference next month in LAs Vegas.
I haven't had a lot of time to look at it lately (the mechanics of
generating partial bitstreams put me off), but if anyone is interested
I'd be happy to share my driver code.
Note that this same driver will also work on V2Pro/PPC-based Linux
platforms as well...
Cheers,
John
