Hi,
I'm just going through the Xilinx' reference design (xapp290.zip).
I run module_based/run_flow.cmd and everything runs fine until it
calls module_based/Top/Assemble/assemble.cmd.
Here, the command "par -w alu_map.ncd alu.ncd" pops up an error dialog
box saying the par.exe has crashed. The last output from assemble.cmd
before the crash is:
Loading device database for application Par from file "../../Pims/add/add.ncd".
"alu" is an NCD, version 2.38, device xc2v250, package fg456, speed -5
The STEPPING level for this design is 1.
The readme.txt with the project says it was created using ISE 6.1.02i.
I am using 6.3.03i. Can this be the problem? I would think the
difference in software here is not very big.
I can do other designs fine within ISE, including PAR. I tried running
just after a reboot in case there might be memory problems. I can also
reinsall ISE if it is suspect (For starters, I did a checksum on
par.exe with an ISE install on another machine and they were the
same).
