[partial-reconfig] Another question on DPR tutorial by Gregory Mermoud
Hi all,
i am up to the floorplanner stage for the top level design. However after i launched the floorplanner and compared it with the original files i notice these differences and would like to ask why. I am using spartan 2 as the device also to follow the steps in the tutorial.
In the original top.fnf file under design hierarchy,
for the top there is [16 PSEUDO DRIVERs, 23 IOBs, 32 BUFTs, 1 BUFG]
top "Primitives" [23 IOBs, 1BUFG]
busRegToInc_bus2 "bm_4b_s2" [8 BUFTs]
increm "incrementer" MODULE [8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
busRegToInc_bus1 "bm_4b_s2" [8 BUFTs]
busIncToReg_bus2 "bm_4b_s2" [8 BUFTs]
myReg "myRegister" MODULE [8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
busIncToReg_bus1 "bm_4b_s2" [8 BUFTs]
However in the top.fnf file i generated, this is what i have :
for the top there is [64 PSEUDO LOADs, 48 PSEUDO DRIVERs, 15 IOBs, 1 BUFG]
top "Primitives" [15 IOBs, 1BUFG]
busRegToInc_bus2 "bm_4b_s2" [ 4 PSEUDO LOADs, 8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
increm "incrementer" MODULE [ 24 PSEUDO LOADs, 8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
busRegToInc_bus1 "bm_4b_s2" [ 4 PSEUDO LOADs, 8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
busIncToReg_bus2 "bm_4b_s2" [ 4 PSEUDO LOADs, 8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
myReg "myRegister" MODULE [ 24 PSEUDO LOADs, 8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
busIncToReg_bus1 "bm_4b_s2" [ 4 PSEUDO LOADs, 8 PSEUDO DRIVERs]
Another question i have is under page 8 of the tutorial section 3.2.2 for the reconfigurable modules we have to uncheck the Add I/O Buffers box but what about for the myRegister module ? Is the myRegister module a reconfigurable module ? If not, what should it be ?
Thanks for all your time !
Regards,
Zijia
