1. Network Administration Tool Collect data from bridges, gateways and routers within the department and report on network performance. User settable polling period. Use SNMP and any other useful protocol.

Use a graphical interface to display the current state of the network. Show both the performance and the network connection status.

Trigger alarms when certain parameters are violated.

Monitor specific clients to watch for problems.

Log performance of specific ports or links.

Extension:

Visit servers and collect internal statistics to report on server performance dynamically. Integrate this display into the above display.

Extension:

Make a WWW interface for viewing.

Make a WWW interface for administering, with suitable authentication for secure access.
