Collective Workshop Exercises
The collective workshop in the second half of the lecture time is focused on script writing for the first couple of weeks.
Week 1
In Class Exercise: Story structure
Take Home exercise 1 : Prepare for collective workshop in the second hour of the lecture in Week 2
by coming with a script idea to pitch to others.

Prepare the following exercise to do in class in week 2.
Week 2
In Class Exercises
1. Pitch your idea to a small group following the guidelines from the take home exercise in week 1.
2. Break into groups of 3 and write a correctly formatted excerpt from the following script on the whiteboard. Each group should take one sentence to
format correctly their part of the script.
Take Home exercise 1 : Take the same Script Exercise (see below) and construct a short screenplay, correctly formatted.
You should present your exercise for the tutor or lecturer to sign off in the collective workshop part of the
lecture, week 3. Otherwise, present your exercise for the tutor to sign off in the prac.
Take Home exercises
1. Storyboard exercise For this exercise you may storyboard an interview,
or a segment of the script exercise or a scene or two from the exercise on documenting your neighbourhood below.

2. How would you document your neighbourhood ?

Discuss your storyboard exercise in a small group. Does it tell the story clearly? Is it well structured? Does it flow well?
Present your paragraph on how you would document your neighbourhood to a small group. How did you answer the questions posed in the exercise?
