THE
GUITAR PROJECT Ð Michael
The
use of white space makes this project truly dynamic. Use of the concept Òless
is moreÓ within the graphics and colour schemes allows for the viewer to
clearly understand the content. Simplicity seems to be the key in the projects
overall look and feel, which in no doubt works quite well.
I
would however, like to point out a small suggestion on the use of the colour
blue; because an electric guitar is such an energetic, vibrant and lively
instrument, the use of a blue hue and its tones tends to diminish this energy
as blue in itself is a very cool colour which gives a calm effect to the
overall feel. ÔEnergyÕ by content and ÔcalmÕ by appearance may not necessarily
work as well as a colour red or orange would, perhaps. Red tends to bring out
the power and energy wherever it is used, and it is only my small opinion that
a touch of red or a vibrant orange would bring out the content of this project
to a higher level of interest.
The
navigation is clear to understand and is easy to use through the use of mouse
rollovers. The sub-navigation in each section should also rollover to a
different coloured text just to keep things consistent and easy browse
thorough. The animation in the project works well and provides greater
entertainment.
Overall,
the project is well done and easy to navigate through and the understanding of
what the project is about through graphical representations as well as the
content is reached very clearly. Well done.

HAIDRESSERS
Ð Anna Veloso
The
introduction is very effective through the use of the black/white graphics and
animations. It makes the viewer pay attention to what is to follow. The final
coloured screen works well as the main focus of the project. Being the only
coloured feature just after the intro, it truly draws attention to itself. The
magazine layout was a great idea, where else can you find the good and the bad
hairdoÕs, but in magazines!
The
navigation layout is very clear to understand. The graphics in each section are
very well done and really go well with the overall look. I thoroughly
enjoyed each section!
The
only criticism I would make lies within the quiz part. I would have liked to
see a bit more colour. I was taken by the look of the entire project, however
with the quiz I felt that it lacked the same attention of graphics. Perhaps the
emphasis could be on the question in a typeface such as ÔcurlsÕ, or perhaps a
background graphic, to make the overall quiz page fit more within the style of
the overall project.
Overall
this was fantastic! Well done!

THE
DYNASTY Ð David T
Although
I was attracted to the entry of the project, I wasnÕt initially sure whether
this is an animated introduction, which I am to watch, or whether I was to
click on something. Things tended to move rather slowly in the main title of
the project, which drew my focus away from having to grasp the fact that I
needed to click on the square.
Because
I am a fanatic for colour, I loved the screen that followed with the coloured
buttons placed onto the map. The use of mouse rollovers told me that they are
buttons and links, however I would also like to have known where they would
take me if I have clicked on them prior to clicking.
The
green leads to the Ôshoot the dudes behind the rockÕ game no doubt. It is a fun
game, however you may notice that even when you shoot the rocks you get points
scored. I think I got the highest score ever! The blue section was a little
confusing, although I believe it is another game to play.
The
use of graphics and sketches and the style of drawings are very effective and
suit the subject matter quite well. The overall style of the project is really
seen in the yellow section with the historical backgrounds of what the project
is about. Although I enjoyed the way you have structured and captured the
events, I wasnÕt sure where to click to follow on to the next screen. It took
me a while to figure out the top squares are the next and back links. Perhaps,
to make things easier, on the roll over, a small arrow could appear showing you
in which direction you will be taken into? I loved the flashlight effect!!
I
thoroughly enjoyed the story telling of the last section. I didnÕt pick the
right sward! (Is there a right sward?... I picked on all three and always
wrong)
I
was however; a little confused as to where I was supposed to click on the main
imagesÉI was clicking everywhere. Perhaps there could be a better indication of
a link rather than the mouse-hand cursor effect, which seemed to be showing on
whole images rather than sections.
Overall,
it is an impressive piece of work with fantastic graphics. Although the
navigation could be clearer I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline behind the
overall project. The games made the project all the more interesting and kept
me entertained at all times.

JOURNEY
Ð Eve & Bona
The
style and use of graphics and illustrations evoked great initial interest.
Although I wasnÕt too sure where I was to click and what I was supposed to
experience. I searched frantically with the mouse for any links, I was a little
disappointed to have clicked the heart link and not be taken somewhere. Is
there another link from the heart? Then, when searching for the next item I
have found the wallet.
The
point I would like to make on the next screen is that although the graphics are
very consistent, the fonts do not suit the style and overall feel of the
illustrations. I would have liked to see a very gothic looking font or one that
resembles a very old typewriting Ð a font, which would match the overall look
of the scene.
I
would also like to have read an explanation or some kind of introductory phrase
at the initial scene, which described what the overall project is about. Having
seen it fully I am still a little confused as to its main theme.
The
illustrative graphics, as I have stated before are very nicely precented and
kept consistent which makes this project interesting.
Overall
a great piece of work, however I would like to suggest a tiny elimination of
confusion through the use of descriptive short phrases to emphasise main points
of the project or scene.

WORK Ð Sonya +
Although
I was interested in the initial graphics and look of the project, I could not
hear the words, as the music sound was too loud. I feel that the voice for this
project should be more dynamic. Perhaps a male voice? You could emphasise words
more instead of making things sound as though you are reading them out. The
introduction section could have been shorter as the viewer tends to get
distracted.
Labelling
of sections could be taken into account to allow the user to understand each
section more thoroughly.
The
graphical layouts are nicely presented and kept consistent which adds to the
interest of the overall look. Although the graphics are highly representational
the project lacks common navigation. The user is unaware of the linked space.
Perhaps more labelling of space would be appropriate with the use of a common
font throughout, which would reflect the background type-writings of the
scenes.
Overall,
you are using a great subject matter for the project. You have captured the
graphical implementations within the layout quite nicely. The only suggestion I
would propose is to make the navigation more apparent and the use of labelling
of sections delicately would be of great help for the user to interact with the
project on a higher level.

Eleanor:
I am unable to find the file in the nm4 folder on the server. Is there anywhere
else that the file has been placed?
Matthew:
I couldnÕt open your file for the life of me. Sorry but I am unable to give a
report on the one singular page that does open.
Greg:
Same as with Matthew, I am unable to locate your file. I can open a
presentation file, which gives me an initial idea of the project but nothing
concrete enough to give you feedback on.
ADRIANNA
because
you guys have not been able to receive my discs on time, I might put my project
onto the Internet for a few days so that you guys can give me some feedback.
The files will be stored under www.fsw.com.au/adrianna within the next 20
minutes or so. Please write !!!!! The files are quite big so you may actually
want to download the whole project onto your computers first...otherwise you
may make yourself a cup of nice coffee and wait :o)
