Since
completing a Diploma in Audio Engineering in 1997, Matt has been developing his
interests in audio, music, and audiology.
In 2001 he
graduated from the University of Auckland with a BSc in Electronics and
Computing and elected to continue with a BE in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2005 (Hons, 1st
Class).
Currently he
is completing doctorate studies at the University of Queensland, concerning
improvements to the Auditory Brainstem Response test and Neonatal Hearing
Screening.
Specifically,
Matt is investigating the possibility of tailoring auditory stimuli to
individual physiologies. Customised stimuli may evoke larger brainstem
responses, and have certain properties that could enable audiologists to more
accurately diagnose the health of the hearing pathways.
