in 2009. He won this award for his contribution to enhancing undergraduate
and postgraudate power engineering through leadership in industry engagement, in
work-integrated learning and the collaborative development of innovative
postgraduate programs. Citations are awarded to academic and professional
staff who have made long standing contributions to the quality of student
learning and improving the overall student experience. Each citation is work
$10,000.

in 2011 for presenting his paper titled “Investigation of Voltage Variations
in Unbalanced Distribution Systems due to High Photovoltaic Penetrations” in
the IEEE 2011 PES General Meeting at Detroit, MI USA.
- Mr Muhammad Bachtiar Nappu (PhD student in power system engineering) won the IEEE PES student travel award in 2011 for presenting his paper titled “Evaluation of GENCO’s Strategy in Creating a Congested System for Exercising Market Power” in the IEEE 2011 PES General Meeting at Detroit, MI USA.
- Miss Mai Nguyen (PhD
student in power system engineering) won the IEEE PES student
travel award in 2010 for
presenting her paper titled “A Comparative Study of Voltage Stability for
Long Distance HVAC and HVDC Interconnections” in the IEEE 2010 PES General
Meeting at Minneapolis, USA.
- Mr. Sudarshan Dahal (PhD student in power system engineering)won the IEEE PES student travel award in 2010 for presenting his paper titled “Investigation of Small Signal Stability of a Renewable Energy based Electricity Distribution System” in the IEEE 2010 PES General Meeting at Minneapolis, USA.
