Apart from spending most of my spare time jumping on beds and watching hi-5 with my daughter Alexandra and sons Christopher and Nicholas, my main "passion" outside of work is singing. I have been performing leading roles in musicals and concerts around Brisbane for over 16 years now.
With the responsibilities of work and parenthood, it is a little difficult for me now to be involved in large scale musicals. So, instead, I have started my own charity organisation (check out www.singamorning.com), that specialises in fundraising concerts. For example, in 2007 we ran a fundraiser concert for Opportunity International (a not-for-profit organisation that is aimed at alleviating poverty in the developing world), bringing together Brisbane's leading musical theatre performers. We even had Chris Fennessy performing - who played Jean Valjean in London's West End Production of Les Miserables!!!! (check out our flyer)
As part of my singing practice I frequently record what is coming out of my mouth
(this is good for noticing problem areas, but not so good for the ego).
For anyone who may be interested - below are some very old recordings of me
singing some of my favourite tunes (I am hoping I have improved since then).
Broken Vow (4.3meg) - recently made popular by Josh Groban
You're Nothing Without Me (3meg) - from the musical "City of Angels"
| Spellbound Over the last few years I have been involved in several incarnations (including a CD, promotional video, and concert) of a locally written musical called Spellbound. You can find out more about this musical at www.bainwave.com.au.

| | The Brisbane Musical Theatre Competition As much as I hate singing competitions (I get quite nervous and competitive), I have performed three times in the grand finals of the Brisbane Musical Theatre Competition. The photo is from a duet (called "dangerous game" from Jekyll and Hyde), that I performed with my friend Heidi Robinson. The image was used for promotion of the 2004 and 2006 competitions (view promotional flier). |
