Abstract:

Web Services is a hot topic today because it promises to be the
foundation of the Web tomorrow. We have all seen the impact and
benefits of the Web and Web Services will enable the Web to be even
more powerful and useful. The W3C is developing the specifications
for Web Services. It is a vendor neutral organisation and it is
committed to keeping the Web open and interoperable - vital
ingredients for the success of the Web. Building on the success of
HTML, XML and other W3C technologies, Web Services will help us
realise the full potential of the Web. This talk will cover:

- What is Web Services?
- What is the W3C doing for Web Services?
- How can Web Services be used?
- How can you plan for Web Services?
