Abstract:Ethics can cover a wide range of issues associated with: Commerce,
Computer Abuse, Social Justice Issues, Speech Issues, Intellectual
Property, Privacy and Risks. The seminar will provide examples of
how organisations such as USQ and the Australian Computer Society
(ACS) provide advice and information to our constituents about
issues associated with ethics through Codes of Practice and
Professional Conduct. Case study examples from the ACS will
illustrate the various scenarios that computing graduates will be
faced with when they join force and will illustrate how legislation
and codes of practice can assist.
